I recently graduated with a Master of Divinity in Theological Studies, majoring in Systematic Theology. My thesis focused on “The Stewardship of the Church on God’s Creation.”

Which schools did you attend before AIU?
I’m Alpha Asiimwe Mugenyi, born on October 15, 1987, in Nyakasenyi Village, Ntoroko District, Western Uganda. I am one of eleven children born to my mother, Martha Bamanyisa, and my father, Chealtiel Mugenyi. I am married to the beautiful Patricia K. Asiimwe, and we have one daughter, Apphiel A. Asiimwe. Due to life’s challenges, I le my father’s home at the age of 8. Growing up, I lived with uncles and grandparents and worked various jobs to support myself through primary, secondary, and university education. It was a demanding journey.

Which schools did you attend before AIU?
I attended Nyakasenyi Primary School in Western Uganda, then Nyakasanza Institut (Petit Colege) in Eastern DRC for Secondary School, I completed my BA degree in Environmental Studies at Shalom University of Bunia in Eastern DRC.

How was life growing up?
I grew up in a blended family. My parents separated when I was 8 years old, and I lived with relatives and worked in various jobs to support myself. It was a challenging journey.

At what stage did you decide on your career path?
I decided on my career path during my undergraduate studies when I realized my passion for pastoral work and shepherding. This calling led me to pursue theology.

Which people have impacted your life?
Several people have significantly impacted my journey, including my family, mentors, Prof. Samuel Ngewa and educators who supported and guided me throughout my studies.

When wasyour turning point?
My turning point came when I decided to pursue advanced theological studies, which clarified my career direction and passion.

Tell us about you book;
I recently launched my book, “A Journey to A Higher Calling,” on July 7, 2024, at CITAM RONGAI. The book explores “A Journey to a Higher Calling” explores the transformative path of pursuing a deeper spiritual and theological understanding. The book reflects on the role of the church in stewarding God’s creation and offers insights into living a life dedicated to higher spiritual goals. Through personal anecdotes and theological reflections, it guides readers on how to embrace their divine calling and make meaningful contributions to their faith and community.

Any advice to the next generation?
To the next generation aspiring to achieve similar or greater success, my advice is to stay determined, seek guidance, and remain resilient in the face of challenges.

Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
In the next five years, I see myself achieving a PhD in Systematic Theology, advancing in my career as both a pastoral leader and professor, contributing significantly to my field, and continuing m y p e r s o n a l a n d p r o f e s s i o n a l development.

How have you been able to balance between studies, work and family?
Balancing work, family, and studies has been challenging but manageable through effective time management, prioritization, and the support of my loved ones, especially my wonderful wife, Patricia K. Asiimwe.

What are your Hobbies?
My hobbies include riding bicycles

Your favorite dish?
My favorite dish is matooke and pumpkin leaves
