Masai Mara University; The Epi -Centre of Higher Education Learning in the heart of Narok County.
For more than a decade, Masai Mara University boosts as an epitome of university education in Narok county.
Located just a Kilometer from Narok town along Narok -Bomet – Kissi highway, Masai Mara University has changed Narok and its surroundings.
Founded on 16 July 2008 as Narok University College, a constituent college of Moi University, it was rebranded as Maasai Mara University in 2013.
The university has a conducive environment which favorable for the learners. According to Ruth Kimiriny a first-year student of criminology, there is true learning at MMU with reasonable tuition fees. She mentions that the university has freedom of worship and herself as a catholic, she is free to observe the rosary without anyone stopping her. She says it’s the same to other students belonging to other religious denominations.
Simon Kitiyo a post graduate student is just thankful to the university. As a top performer in his undergraduate at the same university, he was retained and now lectures on a part-time basis as he pursues his postgraduate studies.
The community around just praise the university for transforming their status. According to Nkasiogi, a boda-boda rider, he says is what he is today because of the university.
